Welcome to Indivisible Ramona’s weekly action plan for May 14, 2018! Again, the Statewide Primary Election is coming up on June 5, 2018. Mail ballots for vote-by-mail registered voters have started being mailed out, and KPBS has an informative segment about the process: Politics 101: How Do You Know Your Mail-In-Ballot Was Counted? For voting guides, here are some:
Contact Assemblymember Waldron and ask her to support SB-1346 which would ban bump stocks. The bill passed the State Senate 26-8 and has been referred to the Assembly Public Safety Committee for review. See CA StateStrong Newsletter.
Contact State Senator Anderson and ask him to support AB-2103 which requires a minimum of 8 hours live training to get a concealed carry permit; current policy only specified between 1-16 hours. The pill passed the State Assembly 57-20 and has been referred to the Senate Public Safety Committee for review. From Moms Demand Action: “Hi, I’m [name] and I’m a constituent from [city]. I'm calling on behalf of Moms Demand Action. I would love to see California join the other 25 states that require live fire training for a concealed carry permit. Please ask Assembly Member [name] to vote Yes on AB2103.” See also CA StateStrong Newsletter.
